Exploring Membership Class

Twice a year, Setauket Presbyterian Church offers a three session class called Exploring Memebership for anyone interested in learning more about worship and life at SPC. Commitment to becoming a member of the congregation is not a prerequisite for attending. This class will allow participants to explore what membership is about so that they are able to make an enlightened and purposeful decision. The class will provide background on the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), who we are in particular at Setauket Presbyterian Church, and the meaning of membership in our congregation. Participants are encouraged to ask about the many spiritual, Christian education and fellowship programs our church offers.

The Fall 2007 membership class will be held on Monday, October 1 and Tuesday, October 9 from 7:30 – 9:30 PM, and on Sunday, October 14 from 2:30 - 4:30. Those who decide to commit to membership with us will be asked to meet with session (the church board) on Wednesday, October 17 at 8:00 PM and be welcomed and received by the congregation on Sunday, October 28 (Reformation Sunday) at the 9:30 AM service of worship.

The Spring 2008 membership classes will be held on Monday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 8 from 7:30 - 9:30 PM, and on Sunday, April 13 from 2:30 - 4:30. Prospective members will meet with the Session on Wednesday, April 16 and be received into membership on Sunday, April 27 at 9:30 AM.
