Youth Programs

The Church School Programs are offered on Sunday Mornings and the Youth Group Programs are held at night.

Children In Worship
Children attend the worship service as a part of their Christian Education. We need to remind them that when they enter into the Sanctuary they are entering into God’s House. While in God’s House, they need to be taught appropriate behavior and shown how to participate. You can teach your child by explaining to them the reason or purpose of various parts of the service and help them to participate on an age appropriate level. The Pastors are available and willing to assist you in preparing your child for worship. Also, in the Children’s Library there are several copies of the book A Children’s Guide to Worship, which explains the different parts of a worship service at a child’s level.
All children attend the first part of the Sunday Service at 9:30 am with their parents. In the service, children can pick up a Children’s Worship Bulletin and hear a Children’s Sermon which introduces the lesson they will study in their Church School Class. The Pastor dismisses children and teachers after the Children’s Sermon.
On designated "Communion Sunday" children in grades 4 and up will return to the service to take part in the Sacrament of Communion.

Childcare
Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers during the 9:30 am Sunday Church Service.

Church School Staff
Our volunteer church school staff is comprised of parents, Jr. & Sr. High youth and other members of our congregation. These volunteers, with their love and dedication, make our church school program a success.

Children’s Library
Through the generosity of former members Bob and Joyce Monroe, we have a wonderful children’s library. A growing collection of children’s books, tapes, and videos can be borrowed by children and parents.

Learning Centers
Periodically, children take part in a hands-on learning center in the Fellowship Hall. During this time, children work on crafts, hear stories and participate in activities which reinforce the Church School lessons.

Mission Projects
Each Church School Class chooses a mission project and the children bring an offering each week to support that mission. Please support your child’s class mission project by reminding them to bring their offerings to Church School each week. Discuss the mission project with your child to be sure they understand its purpose and goal.

Registration
All children attending Church School must be registered. Information provided by the registration forms is vital to the successful operation of our Church School program.

Bible Presentation
Each year, every third grader enrolled in Church School receives a personalized Bible at a special presentation during the 9:30 am Sunday Church Service. This Bible is intended for use as the child continues his/her religious education.

Confirmation
Ninth graders attend a confirmation class, beginning in November, where they explore and define their faith, both individually and as a group. It is an important time of spiritual growth and renewal.
